Stop Selling and Make More Money!

What comes to your mind when you hear the word "sales"? What about "salesman"?

Most people have a lot of negative images that flood their mind when they hear those words. They think of pushy people with an agenda that will say anything up to and including lying just to get you to give them money for something that you don't really want or need. After you finally give in and purchase from this type of person, you have a bad memory of them and hope you never see them again, and you typically are not happy with what you got. You see it as a waste of money.

There are a lot of people out there that do just that trying to "make the sale." However, those are not the ones that are making the most money and they certainly are not making many friends.

Contrast that with someone that you meet who wants to know about you instead of telling you all about them. Someone who asks questions to find out about what needs, issues, and concerns you have and then proposes a solution to meet those needs, deal with those issues and alleviate those concerns. This is a person that you are glad you met and you are extremely happy with what you got from them. You look forward to doing business with that person again and you may even develop a friendship with them outside of business. You refer your friends and family to them because you know that they can help them too.

Which of these two people will make the most money in the long run? Obviously the one that is making people happy and getting referrals will do much better.
"You make more money solving problems than you do by selling products!" --Bryan Flanagan
If you want to make more money stop thinking about you and start thinking about them. Have a genuine concern for the person you are talking with (not to) and find out their needs. This discovery process is done by asking questions and then listening to the answers. Keep in mind that many people do not even really take the time to think about what they are really looking for. They have gotten into a routine and just go day-by-day. Learning to ask the right questions will help you focus on them and will help them discover what it is they really want.

Once you have that information then you can show them the solution to what they are looking for.
"Creating or expanding business relationships is not about selling – it’s about establishing trust, rapport, and value creation without selling. Call me crazy, but I don’t want to talk to someone who wants to manage my account, develop my business, or engineer my sale. I want to communicate with someone who desires to fulfill my needs or solve my problems." --Mike Myatt
Become a problem-solver then you will find increased success, happiness, and income!

Ambit Energy Rockets Up the Global 100 List

On April 16th, Direct Selling News (DSN) had their awards ceremony recognizing the largest direct-selling companies in the world based on their annual revenue. Ambit Energy was recognized as the 15th largest direct-selling company on the planet based on 2011 revenues of $664 million. This is a 60% increase over the 2010 revenues of $415.

The preliminary list is now posted on the DSN website. The final list will be published in the June 2012 issue of the magazine. The Top 15 from the list are shown below.

The average age in 2011 of the 14 companies above Ambit Energy on the list is 51 years. Ambit celebrated its 5th year last September.

The average number of countries that the other 14 companies operate in is 43. In 2011, Ambit only did business in one country, the United States, and not even the whole country—only in 6 states (Texas, New York, Illinois, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey)! On April 19th, 2012, Ambit will start service in its 7th state, Connecticut.

This is truly a recession-proof business as evidenced by the fact that since the U.S. economy headed south in late 2007, Ambit has increased its revenues by 1,437%!

How to Be Rich

"I felt that, in our contemporary society far too much emphasis was being placed on getting rich, on amassing wealth. Little if any attention was being paid to the very important question of how to be rich, how to discharge the responsibilities created by wealth even while constructively enjoying the privileges and prerogatives conferred by it.

After all, 'richness' is at least as much a matter of character, of philosophy, outlook and attitude, as it is of money. The 'millionaire mentality' is not—and in this day and age cannot be—merely an accumulative mentality. The able, ambitious man who strives for success must understand that the term 'rich' has infinite shadings of meaning. In order to justify himself and his wealth, he must know how to be rich in virtually every positive sense of the term."

Price vs. Value

"Price is what you pay. Value is what you get." --Warren Buffett

Most retail energy providers just sell you electricity or natural gas and therefore price is the only thing to consider. However, Ambit Energy provides much more and brings value to your choice to upgrade to their service. Here are some of the things available to all customers that differentiate Ambit Energy from all the other companies out there:
  • 3-day/2-night hotel stay in any of 25 different locations just for enrolling
  • Travel Reward Program
    • Earn points for every kWh or therm of usage every month
    • Accumulate points and trade them in for vacation packages such as cruises, airline tickets, or week-long resort stays
    • 2,000 Bonus Points granted on your first bill
  • Customer Referral Program
    • Free referral website that you can send people to, so they can find out about Ambit Energy and even enroll themselves as customers
    • Free Travel: Refer five new customers to Ambit and the company will reward you with your choice of one of the travel packages
    • Free Energy: Refer a total of 15 new customers one time to Ambit and the company will take the average of their bills and apply that average as a credit to your bill every month (through this program, my last electricity bill in Texas was only $7.42 and I have received a total of over $4,000 in credits to date)
When you look at everything that Ambit has to offer, there is no better value available to customers. There is also an income opportunity for those that want to earn money by referring others.
