Rapid growth continues for Inc. Magazine’s “Fastest-Growing Private Company for 2010”
DALLAS – August 22, 2011 – Ambit Energy, a national retail energy provider, announced today that the company has surpassed 600,000 active customers – only four months after passing the 500,000 customer milestone in the first quarter of 2011.
“Our incredible growth is due to great people, solid processes and superior technology,” said Jere Thompson Jr., Ambit Energy co-founder and CEO. “We will continue to rely on this combination of talent and technology as we execute our plans for aggressive expansion into deregulated energy markets across the country.”
Along with record customer enrollments in the Texas ERCOT market, two additional factors in the company’s recent growth were strategic expansions in New York and Illinois with the addition of electricity service in the ComEd Illinois market and expansions in New York state, including Orange & Rockland Utilities (O&R) and Central Hudson Gas & Electric.
“Our company’s exponential growth is a testament to the hard work of over 130,000 Independent Consultants, who have embraced the Ambit business opportunity by continuing to share the value of Ambit with their friends, family and business associates,” said Chris Chambless, Ambit Energy co-founder and CMO. “Working together, we are on target to reach our goal of 1 million customers and $1 billion in annual revenue in 2012.”
As a retail energy provider, Ambit Energy buys power wholesale and resells it to retail customers. Customers are acquired by the company’s team of more than 130,000 Independent Consultants nationwide.
